29 years have passed since Caucasus International University (CIU) – LLC was founded. The University operates as a Legal Entity of Private Law - a limited liability company. The university was founded as a medical institute “Clinitsist” in 1995. The university received a license from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Georgia in the same year. In 2005 it was granted Accreditation by Accreditation Council of Higher Education Institution. In 2006, the name and founders of the institute “Clinitsist” were changed and it was formed as a multi-profile higher education institution – Caucasus International University – LLC.

Challenge

The goal of this project was to completely redesign and modernize the official website of Caucasus International University (CIU) in Tbilisi, Georgia. The existing website required a fresh, user-friendly interface, improved functionality, and a robust backend system to meet the needs of a modern educational institution. The project also involved updating and rewriting backend systems to ensure scalability, security, and seamless performance.

The original CIU website had an outdated design, limited responsiveness, and lacked intuitive navigation, which hindered user experience for students, faculty, and visitors. Additionally, the backend infrastructure was inefficient, making it difficult to manage content, update information, and integrate new features. The primary challenges included:

Outdated visual design and poor user interface (UI).
Limited mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
Inefficient backend systems with slow performance and security vulnerabilities.

Solution

To address these challenges, we implemented a comprehensive redesign and backend overhaul, focusing on the following key areas:

Modern Design and User Experience (UX):

Developed a clean, visually appealing design aligned with CIU's brand identity.
Created an intuitive navigation structure to improve accessibility for users.
Ensured full responsiveness for seamless use across devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).

Backend System Upgrade:

Rewrote the backend infrastructure using modern technologies to enhance performance and security.
Implemented a robust content management system (CMS) for easy updates and maintenance.
Integrated scalable solutions to support future growth and feature additions.

Enhanced Functionality:

Added dynamic features such as an event calendar, news updates, and student portals.
Improved search functionality and optimized page load speeds.
Ensured compliance with web accessibility standards (WCAG) for inclusivity.
